Before you even order anything, they give you roasted peanuts and some radish carrots as an appetizer. The roasted peanuts were not bad but the radish were not really my type of thing. However, it is free so I shouldn’t really complain about it.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Assorted Platter contains jellyfish, bean Curd, smoked salmon and cold cuts. There’s also this type of fish as well. This was a nice platter with some nice food items. Though, the price is very pricey at $69.98. This dish you normally only see during banquets or deluxe meal combo dinners.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Peking Duck Skin Wraps Review

This is a special nice dish as well. The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Peking duck comes with two courses. The first is the duck skin wraps. Basically, you put hoisin sauce and green onion on a steamed wrap. You also put a piece of deep fried Peking duck skin on it. You then wrap it up and eat it. There are also some shrimp flavoured chips as well in this dish. I really enjoyed this as I love wraps.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Peking Duck Two Course Lettuce Wrap Duck Meat Review

The second course of the New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Peking Duck is the Lettuce Wrap with Duck Meat. You basically put the stir-fried duck meat and vegetables on a piece of lettuce. You also put some hoisin sauce on it. After that, you wrap the lettuce wrap and chow down. There was a lot of duck meat in the stir fry which was really nice. This was really tasty as well.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Double Boiled Deluxe Winter Melon Soup contains 8 treasures. Basically, it contains 8 various ingredients in the soup. We got the large version so the price was $88.98. Note that you need to pre-order this item in advance as they need some time to prepare it.

The soup was refreshing. It contains a lot of nice ingredients like scallops, shrimp, ham, mushroom, roasted pork, winter melon and more.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Roasted Squabs Pigeon Deep Fried Review (Price: $26.98 each; $80.94 for 3 – picture below)

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Roasted Squabs (Deep Fried Pigeon) are priced at $26.98 each. We got 3 squabs so it was $80.94. It is served with vinegar and salt. However, I don’t think we really need vinegar or salt as the squabs were quite flavourful already. These taste pretty good as it was slightly crispy on the outside. The meat on the inside was tender.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Live Lobster Ginger & Green Onion with Noodles Review (Price: Varies depending on season)

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Live Lobster has various cooking methods available. We choose the stir fried ginger and green onion. The lobster was 3lbs. We also requested ours to have noodles added at the bottom. As this was a large lobster, there was lots of lobster meat. It was very delicious. The price for the lobster can vary depending on the season. Live lobsters at the restaurant are priced per pound.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Yellow Eel Fried Rice Clay Pot was quite good. It has lots of cilantro and green onion along with yellow eel. We couldn’t find the price on the online menu but we think this probably cost $30+. The yellow eel is quite expensive.

Now, we move on to the regular dinner dishes. These are dinner dishes that you would normally order for dinner. The dishes that we mentioned above are usually for special occasions.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Scrambled Eggs with Prawns & Chives had very smooth and soft eggs. The prawns and chives taste pretty good too. It was not too oily.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Stir-Fried Dace Fish Paste & Cabbage was a bit salty. This was a rather simple dish as you can easily buy Dace Fish Paste at a grocery store and just pan fry it. It was an ok dish but definitely not the greatest.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Braised Scallop with Egg Plant & Egg Tofu in Clay Pot Review (Price: $29.98)

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Braised Scallop with Egg Plant & Egg Tofu in Clay Pot had exactly the ingredients in its name. I really enjoy this dish as it has some of my favourite food items like egg tofu and scallops. The sauce was a bit sweet and spicy.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Chocolate Mousse Puppy (Large) & Bunny Coconut Pudding Review (Price: ~$34.94)

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Chocolate Mousse Puppy and Bunny Coconut Pudding is definitely very cute. It comes with 8 coconut pudding in bunny shape. It was cold and refreshing eating this. The Chocolate Mousse Puppy was a bit hard to cut into pieces at first. I think they probably put this in the freezer. However, after waiting for a bit, you can cut it up. It taste not bad with decent chocolate flavour.

The Chocolate Mousse Puppy (Large) is priced at $14.98 on their dim sum menu during lunch. The coconut pudding in bunny shape probably sells at $9.98 for 4 bunnies.

The New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant Baked Tapioca Pudding had a very crispy top crust layer. It was quite thick! Normally, this is priced at $28.

Inside the pudding, there is red bean paste and tapioca. It was warm and is a great dessert item.

New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant provides complimentary Red Bean Chinese Dessert Soup (Hong Dou Tang). It has red bean and is sweet. It is served hot.

Overall, we really enjoyed the meal. It was to celebrate a family member’s baby so we ordered a lot of nice dishes to eat. New Mandarin Chinese Seafood Restaurant prices are typically higher than the average Chinese Seafood Restaurant. You do however sit more comfortably in a nicer environment though. The food quality seems to be a bit better too.
