Boiling Point Seafood & Tofu Hot Pot Review (Price: $17.15)
Boiling Point (沸點) has a few dipping sauces for you to choose from for your meal. However, during COVID periods, they don’t let you scoop how much sauce you want. Instead, they ask which sauces you want and they give you individual servings. You can choose from garlic soy sauce, garlic bean paste, bean curd paste or garlic chili sauce. I got the garlic chili sauce oil, garlic bean paste and garlic soy sauce.
During lunch time, your hot pot soup meal is $1 cheaper than the dinner time. In addition, you also get a free cold drink during lunch. You can choose from either cold black tea or cold green tea. These are sweet teas and you can adjust your ice levels as well.
For the carbohydrates, you can choose either white rice or vermicelli. I choose white rice as my mini wok hot pot already has vermicelli inside.
Now on to the main food item which is the Boiling Point Lamb Mini Wok Hot Pot Soup. You can choose the spicy level ranging from no spice up to flaming hot. I recommend getting at least mild spicy level as otherwise, the soup will be very bland. The Boiling Point Lamb Mini Wok Hot Pot soup contains vermicelli, napa vegetables, enoki mushroom, imitation crab meat, lamb slices, pork blood, fried tofu skin, fish cake, shimeji mushroom, clam, tofu, mustard greens, egg, tempura, cilantro and green onion. The egg, green onions and cilantro are still uncooked at the top so you need to dip it under the soup to cook it. The Mini Wok has a small fire underneath that cooks the food. Most of the food is already cooked though.
This was a very delicious meal especially during Winter times. There are a lots of ingredients and the mild spice level was just right. With the dipping sauces, it makes the food even better. I tried takeout once and it just didn’t taste as good. It felt like just a regular soup when you do takeout. Boiling Point meals are best if you dine-in. For the lunch price of $17.15, it was reasonable since you get a cold tea as well. The tea was alright but you can’t adjust the sweetness level.
At the end, you also get a mini Boiling Point Lemon QQ Jelly Dessert when you ask for the bill. It was a refreshing cool sweet treat. A nice way to finish off your meal!
Overall, the meal was nice. Boiling Point (沸點) Richmond is located at Unit 130, 4800 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC, V6X 3A6, Canada.
