Korean restaurants often give you complimentary Banchan (side dishes). This time, we got fish cakes, spicy kimchi and some radish. They were nice appetizers. They also gave us the Bibimbap sauce as I ordered Bibimbap.
DooBoo Korean Restaurant Bibimbap with Stone Pot Rice Review (Price: $12.99)
There’s actually two different bibimbap that you can order at DooBoo. One is the stone pot bibimbap where they serve everything together in one stone pot. The other is the bibimbap with side stone pot rice. This is the one that I got. You can bibimbap ingredients and then a side rice that is cooked in a stone pot. The DooBoo Korean Restaurant Bibimbap with Stone Pot Rice is $12.99.
Ingredients include chopped up carrots, romaine lettuce and radish. There’s also bean sprouts, mushrooms, kimchi and beef. In the middle, there’s a pan fried egg with some seaweed sprinkled on top. I got a complimentary small miso soup for my meal as well.
You put bibimbap sauce onto the ingredients and mix it with the side rice. The bibimbap sauce is slightly sweet and salty and includes some garlic inside. After mixing all the ingredients together, you can then eat it. This was a really tasty dish as there’s a lot of different vegetables in it.
Overall, a nice meal that is relatively affordable and priced well. DooBoo Korean Restaurant is located at 6907 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC, V5E 1E5, Canada. There’s a few parking spots in front of the restaurant. However, during dinner and lunch time, you may have to park on the streets.
