Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Asian Salad with Pineapple and Papaya Appetizer Review

The Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Asian Salad with Pineapple and Papaya Appetizer has some lettuce, bell peppers, pineapples and papaya. It is sprinkled with sesame seeds and some sort of grinded up nuts. The salad dressing sauce was slightly sweet and tangy. We got two bowls of this salad to start.

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Nyonya Crispy Calamari Appetizer Review

Next up, we have Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Nyonya Crispy Calamari Appetizer. There’s about 8 rings of calamari squid. They are deep fried and also sprinkled with some chili pepper. The dipping sauce was pretty cool as it has some coconut milk flavour in it. I belive they mix it with some mayo too.

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Caramelized Ginger Shallot Fish Fillet Entree Review

Now that the appetizers are finished, we get served the entree dishes. The first item we got was the Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Caramelized Ginger Shallot Fish Fillet. These are deep fried battered fish and then soaked up with a sweet maggi sauce. There’s also some onions too. The dish was stir-fried and taste really good.

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Rendang Beef Curry Entree Review

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Rendang Beef Curry had about five small pieces of beef. The curry was not sweet. It was an alright dish but there’s really little food in this dish. I guess it is a tasting menu though. The curry sauce goes great with rice.

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Sayur Lemak Vegetables Coconut Cream Entree Review

The Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Sayur Lemak Vegetables Coconut Cream comes with various stir-fried vegetables like beans, cabbage, broccoli, eggplant and carrots. The coconut cream was pretty good and made the vegetables really tasty. A healthy vegetarian dish!

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Jasmine White Rice Review

For the Dine Out Vancouver 2023 lunch tasting menu, we also got two bowls of jasmine white rice. There seems to be some coconut milk added onto it too. Great for eating this with some of the entree dishes.

Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Pandanus Coconut Panna Cotta Dessert Review

For the dessert, we got two cups of the Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine Pandanus Coconut Panna Cotta Dessert. This is basically some coconut pudding with some peach and sweet sauces on top. Not a bad way to finish off the delicious meal!

We paid $50 plus tax and tips for everything today. It was for 2 people ($25/person). Pretty good price considering the amount of food we got to try.
