Royal Palace Seafood Restaurant 敦煌海鲜酒家 is a new Cantonese Chinese Seafood Restaurant on Hastings street that recently opened last month in May 2022. It replaced the existing Van Dragon Chinese Seafood Restaurant. This new restaurant serves various Dim Sum, Noodles and Rice dishes during the day. During dinner time, they have various entree dishes. They have renovated quite a bit and it looks a lot better than the old Van Dragon Chinese Seafood Restaurant. There’s some green onions sprinkled on top. It is served with soy sauce, hoisin seafood sauce and peanut butter sauce. Although the Chinese Donut was not hot and crunchy, these still taste alright. This is a large serving as most places only have four pieces of Siu Mai / Shao Mai dumplings in a serving. There was quite a bit of fish roe on top which was nice. The steamed dumplings contain pork and shrimp and are wrapped in wonton wrappers. They taste really good and yummy. They are then pan fried to perfection. The final product is a skin that is slightly crispy while the inside is soft and chewy. This taste pretty good too. The Royal Palace Seafood Restaurant 敦煌海鲜酒家 Crisy Yam Balls with Honey Nest Dim Sum contains about 12 small pieces of deep fried yam balls. It is then sprinkled with coconut bits with some honey put on it as well. There’s also a wonton paper wrapper that is deep fried. This is to imitate the nest and the yam balls are to imitate the eggs probably. This was a nice dessert to finish things off.
