The back of the Singapore Hawker menu contains items like rice, curry dishes, sides, desserts and Hong Kong style drinks.
Singapore Hawker Nyonya Sambal Deep Fried Egg Review (Price: $3.50 each x 2)
For appetizers, we first got the Singapore Hawker Nyonya Sambal Deep Fried Egg. These are priced at $3.50 for each egg. We got two eggs so we paid $7 for these.
These are basically hard boiled eggs that are then deep fried. After that, sambal chili paste sauce is put on top of it. I really enjoyed the sambal sauce. Although its a bit spicy, the taste was really good.
Singapore Hawker Deep Fried Curry Chicken Wings Review (Price: $8.95)
The second appetizer that we got was the Singapore Hawker Deep Fried Curry Chicken Wings. These are priced at $8.95. The breading was nice and crispy and there was light curry flavour. There are six chicken wings in a serving. Underneath the chicken wings, there’s some lettuce. These taste pretty good and they were at a really reasonable price.
Singapore Hawker Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice Review (Price: $13.95)
For our lunch Entree, we got the Singapore Hawker Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice. Price for this dish is $13.95. There was probably a quarter of a whole chicken in this dish. The chicken was tender and flavourful. I really like how the chicken is boneless. The rice had some sweet soy sauce at the bottom. There’s also some lettuce and cucumbers as vegetables. The dish is served with ginger shallot oil and sweet Thai chili sauce. There’s also a small bowl of chicken soup as well. The sauces were very flavourful and goes really well with the chicken and rice.
Singapore Hawker HK Hong Kong Lemon Iced Tea Review (Price: $4)
For my drink, I got the Singapore Hawker HK Hong Kong Lemon Iced Tea. It was priced at $4. Its interesting how a Singaporean restaurant has Hong Kong style drinks. There were 3-4 slices of lemon in this sweet tea drink. It was refreshing and nice to drink this. I requested mines to have no ice and they still topped the drink.
Overall, Singapore Hawker prices are reasonable and is cheaper than restaurant prices. However, it is pretty much self serve where you take the food yourself. However, that shouldn’t be an issue as you do save on the price of the food as well as the gratuity/tips. The food is also very delicious. If you are craving for Singaporean or Malaysian food and your in the Coquitlam area, head to Singapore Hawker!
