I went back to Sushi King George to try a different bento box. Sushi King George is a full service restaurant with dine-in and takeout. I was there last week where I tried the Teriyaki Salmon Bento Box with California Roll at the restaurant ($10.5 + $2 for Salmon). This time, I got takeout instead of dine in. For Monday to Friday during lunch hours from 11am-2pm, they have some lunch specials. One thing to note is that they are now open from 11:30am instead of 11am.
I got the Teriyaki Chicken with Dynamite Roll Bento Box for $11.50. This time, instead of a salad, I got edamame. It appears that they give you different vegetables each time. Edamame is not my favourite and I would prefer the regular salad. The chicken was deep fried with Teriyaki sauce on top. The dynamite roll has six pieces and consists of two deep fried shrimp and imitation crab meat. The tempura tastes alright. It includes two shrimp, one yam and one pumpkin. There was also a miso soup as well.
Overall, the meal was still pretty good and fresh. However, because it is takeout, the food doesn’t taste as good as eating it at the restaurant. The tempura isn’t as crispy and the Teriyaki Chicken is warm instead of hot compared to eating it at the restaurant. However, it is takeout so it is expected. However, for the sushi, it tastes just as good as eating it at the restaurant. Their lunch specials especially the bento boxes are a great value!
